Interactive 3D Product Configurators

We build interactive 3D product configurators using Three.js, React and WebGL. Real-time material changes, live pricing, PDF generation, ERP integration, manufacturing drawings and BIM export — built for window, door and furniture manufacturers who want to sell more online.

What is a 3D product configurator?

A 3D product configurator lets your customers see, customise and order your products in real-time through a web browser. Instead of browsing a static catalogue, the customer sees a photorealistic 3D model, changes dimensions, materials and options, watches the price update instantly, and places an order — all without leaving your website.

For manufacturers, a configurator means fewer mistakes, fewer returns and a shorter sales cycle. The customer configures exactly what they want, the configurator generates a manufacturing-ready specification, and the order flows directly into your production system. No back-and-forth emails, no misinterpreted specifications, no manual quoting.

Features we build

Real-time material and finish changes

Customers switch between wood species, colours, hardware finishes and glass types with instant visual feedback. We use high-quality PBR textures and WebGL shaders to make every material look photorealistic — oak grain, brushed aluminium, frosted glass, powder-coated steel. Materials can be swapped without reloading the page.

Live pricing

As the customer changes dimensions, materials and options, the price updates in real-time. Pricing rules can be as simple or as complex as your business requires — linear dimension pricing, tiered material pricing, surcharges for special options, volume discounts. We integrate with your existing pricing logic so the configurator always quotes the right price.

PDF generation

Every configuration can be exported as a branded PDF — with a 3D render of the configured product, a dimensioned drawing, a parts list and a price quote. The PDF is generated client-side in the browser, so there is no server load and no delay. Customers can download, email or print their configuration instantly.

ERP and CRM integration

Configurations can be sent directly to your ERP or CRM system as structured orders. We integrate with common manufacturing ERPs and can build custom API connectors for proprietary systems. The configurator becomes a sales channel that feeds your existing production workflow — not a separate tool that creates manual work.

Manufacturing drawings

For window and door manufacturers, the configurator can generate dimensioned manufacturing drawings — the same drawings your production team uses to build the product. This eliminates the gap between sales and production: what the customer sees is what gets built.

BIM export

Architects and builders can download a BIM-ready model of the configured product — IFC or Revit format — directly from the configurator. This makes your products easier to specify in architectural projects and keeps your product data accurate in the BIM model.

Configurators we build

Window configurators

Single and double windows, openable and fixed, with real-time dimension changes, exterior material selection, opening-side configuration and 2D technical drawings. We have built production window configurators for multiple European window brands — see our live configurator at 3dink.ee/configurator.

Door configurators

Interior and exterior doors with panel selection, hardware options, glazing configuration and fire-rating filters. Door configurators can include cutaway views that show the door's internal construction — insulation, reinforcement, hardware — building trust through transparency.

Furniture configurators

Modular furniture systems where customers combine units, choose finishes and see the result in 3D. Sofas, shelving systems, wardrobes, tables — any furniture that is configured rather than bought off the shelf. Furniture configurators can include room-context views so customers see the configured piece in a realistic space.

Technology stack

Configurators run in any modern browser — desktop, tablet and mobile — with no plugin or app install required. We optimise for performance on mid-range hardware, so the configurator is smooth even on a five-year-old phone.

Why 3DINK for configurators

We are one of the few studios that combines deep 3D expertise with production web development. We do not just make a 3D model spin in a browser — we build configurators that integrate with your business systems, generate manufacturing data and drive real sales. Our configurators are in production at European window and door brands, processing real customer orders every day.

Because we also model, render and animate, your configurator starts from a production-grade 3D model — not a model that was built for rendering and then hacked into a configurator. The model is optimised for real-time from the start, which means faster loading, smoother interaction and lower hosting costs.

Try our live configurator

We have a live window configurator running on this site. Try it now: 3dink.ee/configurator. Change dimensions, switch materials, open and close windows — all in real-time, in your browser.

Industries we build configurators for

Our configurator process

  1. Discovery — we map your product rules, pricing logic and sales flow
  2. 3D modelling — build optimised real-time models with PBR materials
  3. UI/UX design — design the configurator interface for desktop and mobile
  4. Development — Three.js rendering, React UI, pricing engine, PDF generation
  5. Integration — connect to ERP, CRM or e-commerce as required
  6. Launch & support — deploy, monitor and iterate based on analytics

FAQ — 3D configurators

How much does a 3D configurator cost?

A basic configurator (single product, dimensions, 3–4 materials, PDF export) starts from €4000–8000. A full production configurator with ERP integration, manufacturing drawings and BIM export typically ranges from €10 000–30 000. We provide a detailed quote after a discovery call.

How long does a configurator take to build?

Basic configurators are delivered in 4–6 weeks. Full production configurators with integration typically take 8–16 weeks. We work in two-week sprints with reviews at each stage, so you see progress continuously.

Can you integrate with our ERP system?

Yes. We have integrated configurators with common manufacturing ERPs and can build custom API connectors for proprietary systems. The configurator can push orders, pull pricing and sync stock levels in real-time.

Do you build Three.js configurators specifically?

Yes. Three.js with WebGL is our primary technology for real-time 3D in the browser. We also use React for the UI layer and can integrate with any React-based e-commerce or CMS platform.

Can the configurator generate manufacturing drawings?

Yes. For window and door configurators we can generate dimensioned manufacturing drawings — the same drawings your production team uses. This eliminates the gap between sales and production.

Does the configurator work on mobile?

Yes. All our configurators are responsive and optimised for mobile, tablet and desktop. We test on mid-range hardware to ensure smooth performance even on older phones. Touch controls are supported throughout.

Can we host the configurator ourselves?

Yes. We deliver the configurator as a deployable package that runs on any static hosting (Netlify, Vercel, AWS S3, your own server). We also offer managed hosting and ongoing support if preferred.

Do you provide ongoing maintenance?

Yes. We offer monthly maintenance contracts that cover bug fixes, browser compatibility updates, new product additions and feature enhancements. Maintenance is billed separately from the initial build.

Get started

Tell us about your product and your sales process. We will propose a configurator concept, a feature list and a project plan within one week. Most configurator projects run 4–12 weeks depending on complexity and integration requirements.
